I’m reading a book and I find myself thinking of how simple little things can make a difference. I slip of the tongue can get you in trouble. A little mistake can fail a test. One word of advice can change a prospective on something. A little stumble could make you fall down the stairs and break a leg. A word from a friend can hurt you deeply. It’s amazing how things so small can make such a difference. I know its all clichéd. Like “One vote can make all the difference” but really if no one decided to vote but two or three people wouldn’t it?

Okay so that’ll never happen but I find myself wondering how the little things I’ve done effect others. I know for me when I see my friends smiling and they greet me with a wave it sets up a good day for me. When I find them fighting I know I worry about it for the rest of the day, sometimes even after they solve the problem. Yeah these are my friends, they’re supposed to affect me this way but I find myself thinking back on the days I had to wait for my mother to come to pick me up for a dentist appointment… There were sometimes people walking by on the sidewalk and when we, total strangers, said hi with a smile as they passed I can remember feeling just a little more patient for my Mom to arrive.

Is this relevant in any way? I don’t know.

(Yes I know this a weird way to start my journal but I couldn't think of anything else.)
